2 hurt in shooting involving Texas Health police officer in Fort Worth, officials say

Fort Worth police are investigating after a shootout involving a Texas Health Resources police officer on Friday left two people injured, according to a news release.
Police were called at about 11:45 a.m. to a parking lot near the intersection of Selkirk Drive and Walden Avenue, where officers found that “multiple shots” were fired between a person in a sedan and a person in a pickup truck, the release says.
Two people in the sedan were struck and taken to a hospital, where they remained in stable condition, the release says.
The driver of the pickup was identified as a Texas Health Resources police officer. The officer, whose identity was not provided by police, was in full uniform and was not struck in the shootout, the release says.

A Texas Health Resources spokesperson declined to comment on the shooting Friday afternoon, deferring questions to Fort Worth police. A Fort Worth police spokesperson declined to answer a list of questions about the shooting.
Whether the officer was on duty at the time of the shooting was unclear.

A Texas Health website says its officers patrol its campuses. The nearest hospital campus is nearly six miles away from the shooting location.
Fort Worth police are conducting an investigation into the shooting, the release says.
