Knicks-Celtics pick
The Celtics return to Boston for their final homestand of the season tonight when they host the New York Knicks.
Boston is favored by 1.5 points on BetMGM Sportsbook. The Knicks are 0-4 against the Celtics this season and I don’t see why that trend changes tonight.
Aside from a 108-104 loss to Boston in the first game of the season, New York’s other three losses in this matchup have each been by double digits. The only potential hiccups for the Celtics are Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday being listed as questionable, but Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White are all good to go.
While the Knicks’ last two wins over Chicago and Milwaukee were impressive, they lost four of five before those victories and that was with Jalen Brunson playing well. Brunson has been excellent this season, averaging 28.4 points and 6.7 assists per game, it’s just that New York’s margin of error is much thinner without a legit secondary scorer in Julius Randle. Randle’s absence hasn’t hurt the Knicks against most teams, but the Celtics are a different beast.
