Hawks-Bulls pick
An opportunity to play for the eighth seed is on the line Wednesday when the ninth-seeded Chicago Bulls host the No. 10 seed Atlanta Hawks in the NBA Play-In bracket.
Chicago is a three-point favorite on Fanatics Sportsbook, but I don’t have a good feel for that spread. One bet I do like is over 222.5 total points.
These are two below-average defensive teams. The Bulls are 19th in defensive efficiency, while the Hawks are all the way down at 27th, sandwiched between the lowly Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards in that category.
Both teams are in the bottom half of points per game allowed as well, with Chicago at 16th (113.7 PPG) and Atlanta tied for 29th overall (120.5 PPG).
Two of the three regular-season games between these teams also finished with more than 223 points, and Hawks guard Trae Young missed the only matchup that went under. Young will play Wednesday, and his high scoring potential and lackluster defense often helps a game hit the over.
This game could go either way, but expect both teams to score at a high pace and take the over with the Fanatics Sportsbook new customer offer!
