Body found on sidewalk in Kansas City; Police investigating

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police are investigating after a body was found on a sidewalk in Kansas City.
KCPD said around 5:30 a.m. Thursday, they were sent to a medical call at 17th and Cambridge for a man found on a sidewalk with “bodily trauma.”
Officers arrived at the scene before EMS and found a man lying on the sidewalk. He was unresponsive and suffering from unknown bodily trauma.
EMS responded shortly after and pronounced the victim dead. Officers at the scene asked for assistance from homicide detectives due to the death appearing suspicious.
The incident is now being investigated as a homicide.
At this time, police said they do not know what led up to the events and they have not identified a person of interest.
This investigation is ongoing.
