Fox News contributor Dr. Kelly Powers dead at 45

Fox News contributor and medical expert Dr. Kelly Powers has died following a battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. She was 45.
The native New Yorker died on Sunday in New Jersey, according to an online obituary published by Holmdel Funeral Home, where visitation will take place on Thursday. Powers spent her recent years living in Colts Neck with her family.
“She was a brave and beautiful soul who could make friends anywhere she went,” the obituary reads. “Kelly had a love for people and she was dedicated to helping others. … Kelly was an accomplished doctor and surgeon who held several spotlights on TV and magazines. Most important to her was her family.”
Born May 13, 1979 in Yonkers, Powers attended Baruch College in New York City before training at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. From there, she earned a master’s in science from the University of San Francisco, and participated in residency programs at Georgetown and Boston University.
Powers went on to make frequent appearances as a medical expert on Fox News and Fox Business, as well as CNN, NBC and CBS.
In 2020, the doctor was diagnosed with glioblastoma, described as one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer. She appeared to have won her battle with cancer after having a tumor successfully removed, but the cancer returned at some point this year, according to one of her Fox media colleagues.
Powers is survived by her husband, Steven Doll, and their young son Bennett.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Tower Hill Church in Red Bank, N.J.
