Detectives determined that, prior to the shooting, there was a verbal and physical altercation involving several people at the location, according to the release. The alleged shooter then fired a single shot, striking Jeffery’s upper torso, before fleeing in a vehicle, the release said.
The release does not state whether police had made an arrest. When asked Sunday morning whether an arrest had been made, a police spokesperson referred a reporter back to the initial release.
