During a break between her son Brexton’s races, Samantha Busch took to Instagram to address a question she’s been receiving frequently about her sudden craving for red meat. She detailed how this dietary shift was driven by her body’s signals rather than any planned decision. “I stopped eating red meat when I was 12,” Samantha shared on her long-standing dietary choice. “I’ve always eaten chicken, turkey, and fish, but never had any desire for red meat. In fact, the thought used to make me gag.”
However, that changed when she started noticing an unusual craving while cooking steak for her family. “Every time I was making it for the boys, I was like, this doesn’t sound too bad,” she admitted. Samantha Busch eventually gave in while in Las Vegas, trying steak for the first time in over two decades. The experience was transformative. “Ever since, I have been craving it non-stop probably three days a week since I started eating it and I’m obsessed,” she confessed. Contrary to warnings she received about potential digestive issues, she felt great, with no adverse effects. In fact, she noticed improvements in her skin and overall well-being almost immediately.
This was something Samantha Busch emphasized. As part of her journey battling alopecia, an autoimmune disease. In addition to the different vitamins and medicines, Busch felt more connected to her body and what it needed. At the time, she was recommended a less inflammatory diet, which included dairy, among other things.

As someone passionate about wellness, she emphasized the importance of listening to one’s body. “You know your body better than any test,” she advised. “Be your own advocate, keep digging, and figure it out until you feel the best version of yourself.” Giving in to her red meat craving, an inflammatory food, she felt healthier.
Samantha shared images from her meal at a restaurant on her social media account reminiscing about a moment at the restaurant. As a child, Samantha abstained from red meat, a vow she kept up until her most recent indulgence. A popular part of the cuisine in this part of the world is red meat, which comprises meats like beef, veal, lamb, etc. It was a no-go for Samantha for most of her life until two days ago.
Outside of her carnivore cravings, Samantha Busch continues to be a big part of her son Brexton’s off-season adventures. Recently, her husband detailed the plans for Brexton as the Busch family joined him in his journey to being a NASCAR driver.

The No. 8 Chevrolet pilot believes his son could start competing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series by age 16. Like Kyle Busch, his son Brexton is also a racecar driver climbing the racing ranks. He will make his karting debut at the said track following his win at the Micro Sprint championship last month.
In an Instagram post, Brexton posted his drawing next to the actual full course track layout on a laptop. With an accurate depiction of the track, the young driver claimed he knew the track pretty well. The Trackhouse Motorplex is a 0.7-mile, 11-turn track located in Mooresville, North Carolina. As the name suggests, the track is owned by Trackhouse Entertainment Group which runs the Trackhouse Racing team in the NASCAR Cup Series. Brexton Busch participated in the track’s Karting Challenge on Sunday, with a mixed bag of results given that it is his first karting experience.
Speaking with NASCAR insider Jeff Gluck, Busch said Brexton will run Legend cars next year. “When he turns 10, he can run Legend cars, so we’ll add that in next May. And then at 12, you’re allowed to run the CARS Tour Pro Late Models. So he’ll probably get into some of that at 12,” Busch said.

The 39-year-old NASCAR driver also added karting to his son’s racing schedule to improve his skills on road courses. He tapped former Hendrick Motorsports crew chief Greg Ives and former F1 driver Max Papis for Brexton’s karting program, which will commence this weekend. With the drivers spending time away from the track this off-season, Kyle Busch should be able to look after Brexton’s racing schedule. Busch concluded the 2024 Cup Series season with five top-5 and 10 top-10 finishes.
