A school bus carrying 10 children veered off the road in Sherborn Thursday after the driver suffered a medical emergency behind the wheel, school officials said.
The crash happened on Coolidge Street as the bus was dropping kids off from school. The Sherborn Fire and Rescue Department said no children were hurt, but the driver was transported to a local hospital.
The driver had just completed a stop and was driving slowly when they experienced the medical event, officials said.
All the kids were checked by medical professionals and released to their parents or school officials by 4:40 p.m. Coolidge Street was closed until 5:40 p.m. while crews worked to remove the bus.
“Again, there are no injuries to any students. Thank you to our mutual aid partners from Ashland Fire Department for the assistance at the scene,” emergency officials wrote in a Facebook post.

Fire officials released a photo of the crash scene, which shows the school bus resting in an area of trees next to the roadway. There appeared to be minimal damage to the bus.
“I commend the students involved for reacting calmly and responsibly and am grateful to the Sherborn Fire and Police Department for their timely and thorough response,” Dover-Sherborn Superintendent Beth McCoy said in a statement.
