School Day Café is scheduled Thursday to host its School Nutrition Food Fair, a family-friendly event open to all students, families and staff from the Castaic, Newhall, Saugus, and Sulphur Springs school districts.
The Food Fair is scheduled 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Bridgeport Elementary School, 23670 Newhall Ranch Road, Valencia.
The circus-themed event will feature over 30 food vendors, including school nutrition brands such as General Mills, Tyson, Domino’s, McCain and more. Guests will have the opportunity to taste new foods, vote for their favorites, and help decide which items could be added to local school menus.
In addition to samples, families can look forward to raffle prizes, carnival games and swag giveaways. The event showcases School Day Café’s mission to bring healthy, kid-approved meals to local schools while building community connections through food, according to a news release from School Day Café.
“The Food Fair is one of our favorite events of the year,” Brittany Young, director of Child Nutrition Programs for School Day Café, said in the release. “It’s a fun and interactive way for students and families to explore the healthy, flavorful options we’re bringing into our schools, and their votes truly shape what ends up on the menu.”
