SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) — The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for an inmate who escaped custody while receiving treatment at Trident Medical Center, officials said.
The inmate, identified as Lauren Ashley Thrower, 32, is described as a white woman about 5-foot-4 and 150 pounds, with red or brunette hair. She was last seen wearing an orange shirt, blue jeans and orange flip-flops.
Thrower was in custody at the Dorchester County Detention Center after being arrested for identity fraud. Officials said she had two holds, one from Probation and Parole and another from the Goose Creek Police Department.
The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office and regional law enforcement are working to locate and apprehend Thrower.
