Buffalo State student in stable condition after Saturday shooting

A 20-year-old Buffalo State University student is in stable condition in Erie County Medical Center after a shooting early Saturday in the vicinity of 30 E. Amherst St. near Main Street, a Buffalo police spokesman reported.
According to the report, the male student was struck in the arm just before 2 a.m. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
The spokesman said initial reports indicated that the student and a friend were confronted by a group of people during a party and the dispute escalated outside, where shots were fired.
An investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Buffalo Police Department confidential tip line at 716-847-2255.
