Charley Hull’s Extreme Measure Sends Golf Community Into A Frenzy Days After Her Absence

The LPGA season has finally wrapped up, and it’s that time of year when players get to kick back and enjoy some much-needed downtime. While some are spending time with family, others are off on vacation, but then there are those who are already gearing up for the next season. Enter Charley Hull and Inci Mehmet, who are literally testing the waters.
The two recently shared a collaborative post on Instagram where these ladies were seen diving into ice-cold water. Yes, in the middle of December! “There are two kinds of people in this world… 🤣🥶,” the caption read. For context, Mehmet had to sing a Christmas jingle just to distract herself from the freezing water, while Hull was basically completely unbothered. Shows resilience, right? Something Hull has done in the past as well.
Remember last year’s December she battled COVID for ten days and then was in hospital for Salmonella food poisoning. She underwent antibiotic treatment at the time. But when it was time to open her 2024 season, she was there. little bit late, but she was there.

Reflecting on her late arrival at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, she mentioned, “I got on the plane yesterday and landed here. It’s pretty late to an event. I don’t really turn up this late to an event, but at least I’m here.” Marking it as a “roller coaster season,” she expressed gratitude to god.
So why in the world would anyone do this? It might look a bit crazy at first, but it’s actually a thing called ice bath therapy. It’s all about sitting in cold water (usually around 50-59°F or 10-15°C) to help with muscle soreness, reduce inflammation, and speed up recovery after a tough workout. And we all know Hull likes to stay fit. The cold shrinks blood vessels, cuts down on swelling, and flushes out waste from your muscles. Then, as your body warms up, fresh blood and nutrients flow in to help heal everything faster.

It’s pretty common among athletes, and while Hull and Mehmet’s ice bath stunt might be a little hardcore, fans were seriously impressed—especially with Hull, who was totally chill (pun intended) during the whole thing.
Fans hail Charley Hull after her insane stunt
“Go on, Charley, you show them how it’s done ❤️❤️.” Fans couldn’t help but be impressed with Hull’s unbothered attitude as she casually took the plunge into ice-cold water, leaving everyone seriously impressed. “So cool being silly while healing your body,” one fan commented, clearly impressed with the combination of toughness and lightheartedness.
Some fans were left questioning how Hull could handle the cold so effortlessly. “I honestly don’t know how you do it,” one wrote, while another joked, “I’m surprised the water didn’t freeze over with Charley in it. Even the elements know not to mess with Charley.”

It’s pretty clear that Hull’s fearless dive into the ice bath left a lasting impression. “You’re right, Charley is hard-core! But fair play, you did it too!” a fan cheered, showing love for both Hull and Mehmet for taking on the challenge.
One fan even threw in a funny comment: “Charley, you are Swedish; you’re used to that.” Ironically, Hull was born in United Kingdom, England but hey, she knows how to handle low temperature.
You seeHull’s no stranger to ice baths. Back in July 2024, she posted about her ice bath adventure with a caption that read, “From ice baths to matching scrunchies and hot chocolates with my favorite people.” In fact, she gave fans a peek into her home gym, sauna, and ice bath setup—showing just how serious she is about recovery and fitness.
