Dorchester Co. woman charged with food stamp fraud

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The South Carolina Department of Social Services says they have charged a Dorchester County woman with fraud after she stole more than $9,000 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.
Brittany Dionne Camden, 37, was charged with one count of fraudulent acquisition or use of food stamps, valued more than $2,000 but less than $10,000.
Investigators say Camden failed to report her wages on three different occasions between April 2020 and Dec. 2021 resulting in $9,854 in over paid SNAP benefits.
Camden was booked in the Dorchester County Detention Center. A booking photo for Camden was not immediately available.
