Dwight Howard Names Big Health Worry for Mike Tyson Amid Jake Paul Clash

Get ready for an epic clash of titans as boxing legend Mike Tyson, 58, steps into the ring against YouTube star-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul, 27. Originally planned months ago, this bout between the legendary heavyweight champion and the YouTube sensation-turned-boxer has been rescheduled due to a hiccup, reigniting fan enthusiasm. However, amidst the growing hype, former NBA star Dwight Howard has voiced concerns about Tyson’s health, raising questions about whether the almost 60-year-old ‘Iron Mike‘ can withstand the challenge of Paul’s youthful vigor and unorthodox style.
On a recent podcast appearance with Mike Miller, Howard didn’t mince words when discussing the fight. According to the basketball icon, Tyson’s aging body may not endure the pace and power Jake Paul brings. “Speaking of Mike Tyson, I’m afraid for that fight… Mike is 70 years old. He has a brittle chin. Jake Paul’s knocking out everybody. If he hit Mike Tyson one time, he might knock him out… I don’t know he [Tyson] might have power but he gonna get fatigued real fast,” said Howard during the podcast.
Just as soon as Howard finished his sentence, Miller also revealed his decision if the fight goes south for Tyson. “If he [Jake Paul], I can’t watch boxing no more… Like watching your guy, that’s my favorite guy in the world growing up,” said Miller during the podcast.

It’s hard to talk about boxing greatness without mentioning Mike Tyson. From a tough upbringing, Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champion ever at 20. Tyson’s illustrious career consists of 50 wins — 44 of those coming by knockout — and featured memorable wins over Trevor Berbick and Larry Holmes. Nearly 60 years old, Tyson seems ever ready for the fight and has a cryptic message for Paul, ‘You still wanna f–k with me?‘
On the other side of the ring stands Jake Paul, a controversial figure who has turned skepticism into spectacle. Initially written off as just a YouTuber who does boxing, Paul has since put his doubters in their place by defeating former UFC fighters Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren.

As the fight draws closer, fans are divided. Will Tyson’s experience and iconic legacy carry him through, or will Paul’s relentless energy and youthful power prove too much? However, even though the NBA veteran has addressed worries regarding the boxing champion’s health, it seems like he is quite confident regarding his own health.

“20 would be amazing. That’s how long I want to play. That was my dream when I first started. My goal was to play 20 years,” added Howard during the podcast. Additionally, the former Los Angeles Lakers player had even pleaded with the Lakers’ President, Jeanie Buss, to give him another chance in the league. “I’m [still] in shape for basketball, so Jeanie give me one more chance,” said Howard.
Even more surprisingly, Howard had also posted a video on his Instagram that featured logos of teams Los Angeles Lakers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers, and New York Knicks, suggesting that he would like to play for these teams if he happens to make a return to the league. As Howard chases his dreams, he proves that age is just a number when passion fuels the journey.
