This Lakeland levy grassroots campaign has worked so hard for our kids. The kids that play the trombone, the kids that love to draw and create, the kids that need mental health support, the kids that play softball, the kids that are in math club, the kids who struggle and the kids who excel … and ALL the kids in-between. There are 4,600 of them. That is a lot of kids.
Our no-voters do not see the big picture, which is how an educated community helps us all. We ALL need health care workers, construction workers, welders, office staff, teachers, scientists, cashiers, engineers, organizers, motivators, creators, thinkers — we need ALL OF THIS in North Idaho. We are growing exponentially and need every single person to contribute at their highest level. Our public schools are the BASE for all of the above, and it is in jeopardy. Do not let people move here and destroy our education base; because it is excellent! Is it perfect? No. But, it is really, really good.
This money is FUNDAMENTAL for our district; the state does not fully fund our public schools. This is not fluff. This is for — our safety and security program, nurses, PE and music teachers, sports, co-curriculars, transportation costs, the alternative middle school, KTEC, and 25 certified teachers. I repeat — this is not fluff.
Please reach out to any Lakeland voters that YOU know and remind them how important their YES vote is on May 20.
