MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers is scheduled to take to the podium Wednesday night at the Wisconsin State Capitol for his seventh State of the State address.
The Governor’s Office said he plans to discuss how he will help Wisconsinites and their families with the issues they are facing, including lowering costs and building up the economy. According to his office, the state’s workforce has grown in the state, with nine counties reporting the lowest rates of unemployment on record.
He is also expected to talk about support for public schools, safety, childcare and mental health care. His budget proposal includes investing nearly $300 million into those services in schools statewide.
He will also address the concerns toward rising childcare costs and will reflect on the bipartisan bill he signed last year. That bill will go into effect this year and Wisconsinites can expect benefits when they file their taxes.
He will also emphasize the need to lower the costs of prescription drugs to make more prices more affordable for all families.
