COLUMBIA, S.C. — Two detainees being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Columbia experienced drug overdoses Tuesday afternoon, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department were called to the county jail off Bluff Road around 4:30 p.m. Jail staff informed the responding deputy that two detainees overdosed and were administered Narcan at the scene before being transported to a local hospital for treatment, while and two others were being seen by the detention center’s medical staff after using drugs.
