Green Bay area high school sports results for Friday, Oct. 24

Bay Port defeated Appleton North 41-6 in a Division 1 football playoff game.
De Pere upset Neenah 28-27 in overtime with a game-winning two-point conversion.
Notre Dame and West De Pere both scored over 70 points to advance in the Division 2 football playoffs.
Multiple local teams and individuals qualified for the state cross-country meet at the Waupaca and Merrill sectionals.
FOOTBALL
Division 1
Bay Port 41, Appleton North 6
SUAMICO – Brady Moon rushed for 286 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries en route to the Pirates’ first-round win over the Lightning.
Matt Stevens added 110 yards rushing and one touchdown on 12 carries.
Bay Port led 7-0 after one quarter and 31-0 at halftime.
Bay Port outgained Appleton North 467-128.

De Pere 28, Neenah 27
NEENAH – Cayden Cavanaugh caught a touchdown pass and then caught the two-point conversion in overtime to give the seventh-seeded Redbirds the upset win over the second-seeded Rockets.
Neenah took a 27-20 lead in overtime on a touchdown run by Ashton VanBeek, who was back after missing last week’s regular-season finale.
De Pere faced a third-and-9 from the 11-yard line on its overtime possession and Holden Woodfill found Cavanaugh all alone in the end zone for the touchdown.
Redbirds coach Ben Strickland then decided to go for the two-point conversion and the victory, and Woodfill connected with Cavanaugh on a short shovel pass and he got into the end zone for the two-point conversion and the win.
Woodfill finished with 398 passing yards for the Redbirds. Sam Robb caught 10 passes for 156 yards and Max Goebel had five catches for 128 yards.
The Rockets finished with 355 rushing yards, including 249 yards for VanBeek on 33 carries.
Neenah, which finishes the season with a 7-3 record, had three turnovers in the game and was also whistled for nine penalties.
Division 2
Notre Dame 77, Greenfield 32
GREEN BAY – The Tritons, who had averaged just over 44 points per game in their last five games, scored 49 points in the first half in their win over the Hustlin’ Hawks.
Notre Dame will host Slinger, which beat West Bend West 42-14, in the second round.
Notre Dame is now 10-0.
West De Pere 70, Hartford Union 33
DE PERE – The Phantoms were relentless offensively, building their lead throughout the game against the overmatched Orioles.
The Phantoms, who have averaged 47 points per game in their last six games, are now 10-0 and will host Pulaski in a second-round playoff contest.
West De Pere beat Pulaski 52-9 on Sept. 19.
Hartford finishes with a 4-6 record.
New Richmond 49, Ashwaubenon 14
NEW RICHMOND – The Tigers, who scored 96 points in their final two regular-season games, overpowered the Jaguars.
New Richmond, which is now 8-2, will host Oshkosh North, a 28-7 winner over Marshfield, in a second-round playoff game.
Ashwaubenon finishes the season with a 4-6 record.
Division 3
Luxemburg-Casco 38, Fox Valley Lutheran 36
LUXEMBURG – Wyatt Bailey kicked a 23-yard field goal with 5.4 seconds remaining to lift the Spartans past the Foxes.
Fox Valley Lutheran had taken the lead with under a minute to go on a 1-yard TD run by Gabriel Heiges, and a two-point conversion.
The Foxes had taken an early 14-0 lead and led 21-7 at intermission.
The Spartans fought their way back, tying the game at 21-21 and then taking a 35-28 lead in the fourth quarter.
Heiges finished with 250 yards passing, while Blessings Kapande rushed 12 times for 141 yards and two touchdowns for FVL.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Kaukauna 3, Notre Dame 2
KAUKAUNA – The third-seeded Ghosts rallied to defeat the sixth-seeded Tritons 20-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-20, 15-10 to advance.
Leading Kaukauna were Clay Torrey with 20 kills and five blocks; Grant Ashbrenner with 14 kills and 20 digs; Mav Kelderman with 13 kills; Donovan Waters with nine kills; Noah Coffey with eight kills; Sam Hussin with 58 assists; and Brennan Novy with 22 digs.
Kaukauna will play at Kimberly on Oct. 28 in the sectional semifinal.
CROSS-COUNTRY
Division 2
Waupaca Sectional
WAUPACA – Notre Dame and Luxemburg-Casco advanced their teams to state for the boys, while Notre Dame and Winneconne advanced as teams to state for the girls.
The top two teams and the top five individuals not from the qualifying teams advance to the state meet, which is Nov. 1 in Wisconsin Rapids.
Grant Wenzelow of Winneconne was top boys finisher in 15:54.3.
Quinn LeRoy of Winneconne was the top girls finisher in 19:35.6.

MERRILL – Lakeland and Shawano finished 1-2 in the boys team standings to both advance to state.
Avrom Barr of Rhinelander was the top boys finisher in 16:45.70.
Shawano’s top finisher was Josiah Kuehl in fifth place in 17:25.60. Bryant Waupoose III of Menominee Nation finished second overall and advanced to state with a time of 16:52.92.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood and Shawano were the top two girls teams and advance to state.
Berkeley Chaltry of Peshtigo advanced to state as the top overall girls finisher in 19:02.68.
Shawano’s top finisher was Bailey Hendricks in eighth place in 19:51.10.
