How the Health Department Could Change Under Donald Trump

President-elect Donald Trump has promised sweeping reforms across numerous departments as part of his pledge to reduce the size of the federal government.
Plans for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have come under intense scrutiny since he announced Robert F. Kennedy Jr, a noted vaccine skeptic, as his nomination for Health secretary.
Trump has noted several changes that will impact the Department of Health and, in turn, the American public. Newsweek has put together the top health changes on the cards for the incoming administration.

Former Democrat Kennedy was nominated to be Health secretary shortly after the November election. Among his proposed changes to health policy administered by the HHS, Kennedy has suggested reducing its workforce by 600 of its 20,000 employees and reallocating research efforts away from infectious diseases and vaccines.
He has also suggested that 50 percent of the National Institutes of Health budget, managed by the Health Department, should prioritize
