Name: Erica Rasmussen
Age: 37
City/state: Gunnison, Colo.
Growing up, running was always a challenge for me. I was the slowest kid on all my sports teams and always dreaded the mile physical fitness test in school. So, I never imagined going from obesity to marathoner!
After a traumatic pregnancy with my daughter, I took ownership of my health. I’ve said goodbye to roughly 100 pounds, and hello to a new lifestyle with a passion for running.

This will be my first Boston Marathon, fourth marathon total, and 19th state I’ve finished a running race in! I’m running Boston, my favorite city, to help celebrate my wellness transformation and inspire others to make positive choices to support their own mind and body wellness.
I’m so excited to run for Boston Medical Center who is making considerable contributions to be a leader for the health and wellness of Boston and beyond! BMC has been part of the Boston Marathon Charity Program since 2005, and has since raised $10M to support innovations in care and research.

Every step of my 26.2 mile toward the finish line will be with joy for the journey and enthusiasm for health and wellness.
