It’s probably a weird coincidence but Madonna, Jamie Foxx and Heather Locklear each holed up in public places over the weekend, perhaps expecting they’d be photographed looking healthy, mobile and lucid.
To varying degrees, these three icons of American music, movies and TV probably feel pressure to counteract reports and gossip that they’ve been debilitated by dire medical issues, infections or relapses into addictive, out-of-control behavior.
Starting with Madonna, the “Vogue” singer was photographed on Sunday walking around her Upper East Side neighborhood in New York and chatting with a friend, according to the Daily Mail and a video posted by TikToker Lauren Conlin. Only 11 days earlier, the 64-year-old pop legend was reportedly found unconscious in her home, due to a serous bacterial infection, supposedly revived with the drug Narcan for unknown reasons, and rushed to a hospital, where she was intubated and spent several days in the ICU.

On Monday, Madonna — or her representatives — revealed on Instagram that she had decided to reschedule the North American leg of her Celebration World Tour, which was due to kick off in Vancouver July 15 and included Oct. 4-5 dates at San Francisco’s Chase Center. Madonna said she’d start her tour in Europe in October.
But as much as reports from the Daily Mail and other outlets say that she’s mostly been bedridden since leaving the hospital, and remains “weak and very tired” from her ordeal, she insisted that she’s “on the road to recovery” and is grateful for people’s “positive energy, prayers and words of healing and encouragement.”
Madonna also said her focus is “on my health and getting stronger.” The TikTok video appears to bolster the idea that she’s “getting stronger” and not bedridden.
Meanwhile, Foxx — or his representatives — also posted an upbeat message on social media late Sunday after the 55-year-old Oscar winner was videotaped twice over the weekend engaging in outdoorsy activities, according to TMZ.

These were the first public sightings of Foxx since April, when he was suddenly rushed to an Atlanta-area hospital with an unspecified “medical complication,” as his daughter Corinne Foxx described it. In May, TMZ revealed that the actor had been moved to a Chicago rehab center known for stroke, traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury care.
On Saturday night, Foxx was seen hitting golf balls, walking around and chatting with people at a driving range in a Chicago suburb, TMZ reported. An eyewitness told TMZ that Fox was walking regularly, not dragging a leg, as if he’s had a stroke. His arm also were good, and his swing was strong. “He was just regular Jamie,” the witness said.

He was sitting up and waving at passes-by, with TMZ concluding that his recovery appears to be “pretty remarkable.” Later Sunday morning, Foxx — or someone managing his social media — popped onto Twitter for the first since his hospitalization to write, “Boat life.” However, the message wasn’t of a personal nature but promotional. He tagged Brown Sugar, the brown sugar-flavored whiskey company, he owns by writing: “Celebrating summer with @brownsugarbbn Stay blessed!”
Sunday also brought Heather Locklear out into public, after the the long-troubled TV star was the subject of reports earlier this month that she was drinking again after several years of hard-won sobriety, as well as acting erratically and using Ozempic to rapidly lose weight. Locklear, 61, didn’t look too troubled as she hit the Westlake Village Farmers Market near Malibu, with her fiancé Chris Heisser and her little white dog, the Daily Mail reported.

Dressed in a long white shirt with leggings, a baseball cap and sneakers, Locklear and Heisser spent around 30 minutes at the farmers market Sunday. They held hands while they browsed the fresh produce, flowers and other products on sale.
Reports that Locklear had possibly relapsed emerged after the Daily Mail published photos of the once luminous “Melrose Place” star, outside an office building in Malibu, looking haggard and as if she was in a world of her own. The photos showed her balancing on a ledge, sprinting across the street and talking to herself.

“Heather is drinking,” a source told the Daily Mail. “The family is very worried. Everyone feels helpless.”
“Tequila has always been her drink,” the source also said. “She can’t stay away from it.”
The source furthermore said that the “Dynasty” star had been taking Ozempic, the diabetes medication that’s become popular with celebrities and influencers seeking help to rapidly lose weight. “She … obsesses over her weight,” the source said. “She’s lost 40 pounds.”
However, another source denied to Page Six that Locklear is drinking again. The statements from her good friend, Sharan Magnuson, suggest that the photos of her, smiling and looking happy as she walks around the farmers market, are more reflective of how she’s been lately. Locklear has been “feeling good” and is “totally lucid,” Magnuson said.
“I just FaceTimed with Heather today and she’s doing great,” Magnuson told Page Six. “We text all the time and we had lunch together only a few weeks ago, we had the best time, we laughed and reminisced. Heather looked fantastic, she was lucid — she’s the best she’s looked in years.”
Between 2006 and 2018, Locklear’s life was in a downward spiral. There were 911 calls by family, hospitalizations, several arrests, and stints in rehab. At one point, her family reportedly asked attorneys to explore the possibility of putting her under a mental health conservatorship. In 2019, Locklear pleaded no contest to charges related to attacking first responders who came to her home after her family called 911 for help. She was ordered to compete a 30-day stay at a residential mental health facility in lieu of serving 120 days in jail, the Associated Press reported
