The Crim Fitness Foundation is hosting a wellness retreat aimed at providing participants with a break from daily stress through movement and mindfulness practices.
The Serene Saturday Wellness Retreat will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 at the foundation’s downtown Flint location, 719 Harrison St., Suite 102.
The event will feature gentle movement, breathwork, sound immersion, and yoga in what organizers describe as a trauma-informed environment.
“This retreat is more than just a day of relaxation; it is a commitment to yourself,” said Theresa Roach, special project manager at the foundation. “Prioritizing yourself, your mental wellbeing, your physical wellbeing, can be challenging. A one-day retreat like this gives people a chance to try it out for themselves.”
Admission costs $75 per person, and participants must be 18 or older. The foundation will provide refreshments and snacks, but attendees should bring their own lunch.
While limited mats, blankets, and blocks will be available at the retreat, participants may bring their own materials.
The foundation will use proceeds from the event to fund its ongoing work to improve health and quality of life for Genesee County residents.
