Hyrox Mania
According to the report, searches for Hyrox classes on ClassPass jumped 506 percent globally, and bookings soared 432 percent year over year.
Founded in Germany in 2017, the “world series of fitness racing” attracts a spread of athletes looking to gain strength while training for and competing in the race. The event consists of eight parts, each made up of a one kilometer race and an additional exercise, including a sled push, ski machine stint, indoor rowing, and burpees.
It’s an intense display of strength, but the exercises themselves aren’t too difficult to pick up, Graham King, owner of an Urban Athletic Club in D.C, told WTOP News.
“The movements aren’t so high-skill based… if you can run you are halfway done,” said King, adding that the layout makes for a prime cheering opportunity. “With Hyrox you are running around this track and everyone can see you. You go to your wall ball, you go to your rowing and your friends and family are cheering you on the whole time.”
Roughly 40,000 participants appeared in London from December 4–7 to compete in the Hyrox race, and Melbourne, Australia is hosting the event from December 11–14. Over 1.3 million people total plan to complete the race this 2025–26 season, according to SkySports.
