OpenAI unveils “wellness” council; suicide prevention expert not included

CHARDON, Ohio — University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center has opened a new 1.3-mile wellness trail on its campus, offering residents, patients and caregivers a scenic space to exercise, reflect and connect with nature.
The UH Geauga Wellness Trail is part of the hospital’s effort to promote physical and mental health throughout Geauga County. The paved walking path winds through wooded areas and green space near the Seidman Cancer Center parking lot at 13207 Ravenna Road.
“We believe that healing and wellness at UH Geauga Medical Center is not only a priority for our patients, but also equally important to those we work with and live with in our community,” said Jonathan Sague, the center’s chief operating officer. “… Our new trail will be a place to retreat, a place to exercise, a place to be mindful, a place to grieve, a place to heal, and a place to be well.”
The project was made possible through community donations, including contributions from Dr. Gregory Stefano, director of the UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute at UH Geauga Medical Center, the Patterson family, the Foundation for Geauga Parks, the Unto Others Foundation and other local donors.
The hospital said the trail is open to the public and meant to enhance community wellness and engagement by encouraging outdoor activity and mindfulness.
