Patriots building football-specific training facility

A team spokesman indicated that the project is not an outgrowth of recent NFLPA report cards that gave the Patriots low marks on some aspects of their facilities; instead, a football-specific building has been in the planning stages for several years.
The three-story structure will include a nutrition center, players’ lounge, locker room, weight room, and media workspace, and is set to be finished in the spring of 2026.
The Patriots are undergoing a rebuild on the field, but there’s also plenty of construction going on off the field, as work continues on a new football-specific training facility adjacent to Gillette Stadium.
While day-to-day activities will primarily be spent in and around the new center and be used exclusively by the football team, the core pieces for game-day needs, including the Patriots’ stadium locker room, will remain in place. Officials say the design of the new building and its amenities are focused on the “player experience,” with several aspects coming into play with the layout.

“The whole project is designed around the players and the player experience,” said Kraft Sports and Entertainment chief operating officer Jim Nolan in a statement. “As teams and team operations have grown, it was time for us to design a larger facility exclusively for the operation of the football team.
“The main floor is designed for where the players will work out, train, rehab, relax, and eat. The top floor is designed for where players and coaches will watch game film, strategize, and meet.”
This will be the second-such facility in Foxborough — a soccer-specific building was constructed for the Revolution and opened in 2019.
Gillette Stadium has been the home of the Patriots since 2002, and has undergone several renovations, most recently an extensive redesign of the north end of the facility.
