CONCORD, NH — Concord police were sent to The Friendly Kitchen on South Commercial Street Tuesday night for a report of a fight.
Around 5:15 p.m., dispatch began receiving “multiple” 911 calls from the soup kitchen, reporting an altercation between at least two homeless men. According to one caller, one of the men might have possessed a knife. A kitchen patron flagged the first arriving officer, and other officers arrived soon after.
After about 30 minutes, one of the officers told dispatch the men were involved in an altercation but refused medical treatment. “The knife or object used is going to be a plastic fork from the kitchen,” the officer said. “That is what the caller was referring to when they said he was holding a knife.”
