LEXINGTON, S.C. — Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green announced that the department has lost a retired K-9 from medical complications.
K-9 Nufo passed away last week following complications with a recently diagnosed medical disorter. Nufo had retired in July 2023 and was successful in making the transition from working dog to household pet, living with his partner Officer Trey Kerwin. The two had worked together in the Patrol Division since 2018.
According to Chief Green, K-9 Nufo had been trained in drug detection, apprehension, tracking, obedience, and article and building searches. He will be remembered for his incredible drive at work.
