Francois Safieddine’s Lotus Concepts includes multiple locations of ViewHouse and My Neighbor Felix; last year, the company introduced a new comcept, the highly Instagrammable Wonderyard Garden + Table in the Ballpark neighborhood. On Friday, April 4 — just in time for Rockies Opening Day — it’s adding another downtown spot to its lineup with the debut of Belles & Boots at 1930 Blake Street. The space had long been home to Sports Column, which got some upgrades in 2024 and was briefly rebranded as 1930 Blake before closing last October Unlike LoDo’s other Western-themed bar, Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row, which moved into the neighborhood on New Year’s Eve 2021 , this venue is decidedly more feminine, leaning to a more glam take on country complete with a large, boot-shaped disco ball that greets revelers.“While Denver has outgrown its Cowtown reputation, it is still influenced by Western and ranching culture today,” Lotus Concepts Management CEO and founder Francois Safieddine says in a press release. “We saw an opportunity to give the classic cowboy bar an authentic and modern twist and create a high-energy space where guests can enjoy locally sourced smoked meats, sip craft cocktails and dance to their favorite country hits under a disco boot. Belles & Boots is something new for Denver, and we can’t wait for the community to experience it.”The 4,000-square-foot space features desert-scapes complete with cacti, a mechanical bull and plenty of room for line-dancing on Thursdays. It also includes a rooftop bar and lounge with a view of Coors Field. Guests can expect DJ sets every Thursday through Saturday, VIP bottle service and a lineup of cocktails and barbecue fare.Local family-owned meat purveyor Meats by Linz is proving the cuts for the menu of house-smoked meats, with options such as Louisiana ribs, brisket and pulled pork, plus sides like coleslaw, baked beans and skillet mac and cheese. “When creating the menu for Belles & Boots, we wanted to keep it approachable and familiar with a little Colorado flair,” says head chef Edgar Drago.
