Victim in early December west Oak Cliff slaying identified by medical examiner’s office

Officials identified a man fatally shot at the beginning of the month in west Oak Cliff.
Jose Juarez-Hernandez, 36, was identified in Dallas County medical examiner records as the victim shot to death Dec. 1.

Officers responded about 12:20 a.m. to a shooting call in the 3800 block of Dawes Drive, near Keats Drive, and found an injured Juarez-Hernandez, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police announced an arrest the same day as the shooting.
Pedro Vazquez Juarez, 43, faces a murder charge in the slaying. He remained in custody on an immigration hold at the Dallas County jail as of Monday morning, records show.

A motive for the shooting and whether the men knew each other was not immediately clear.
