Watch: Dallas Stars, Denver Broncos among teams to hold moment of silence for Marshawn Kneeland

The fallout from the death of Cowboys defensive lineman Marshawn Kneeland continues to ripple across the sports world.
Kneeland, a former Cowboys second-round draft pick, died Thursday morning from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a police chase ended in Frisco. He was 24.
On Thursday night, pro sports teams across D-FW and across the country held moments of silence for Kneeland.
The Dallas Stars took time out before the start of their game with the Anaheim Ducks to hold a moment for Kneeland, with the Stars’ public address announcer extending “deepest condolences to Marshawn’s girlfriend Catalina, his family, friends, and his Cowboys teammates.”

Almost simultaneously, the Denver Broncos were holding a moment of silence for Kneeland at Empower Field at Mile High prior to kickoff for the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Broncos and Raiders.

“The Denver Broncos join the Dallas Cowboys and the entire NFL community in mourning Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, who tragically passed away this morning,” the Broncos’ PA said.
The NFL and the NFL Players Association announced on Thursday that they would be increasing their mental health support resources for the Cowboys and other players across the league in the wake of Kneeland’s death.

The Cowboys are currently on their bye week but will next take the field Monday, Nov. 17, against the Raiders.
