What Happened to Joe Burrow? Bengals QB Potentially Injured After Brutal Brian Burns Hit

The commentators described the Cincinnati Bengals-New York Giants game as “ugly.” Maybe it had to do with the fact that the game was pretty boring and borderline scoreless till the end of the third quarter. There was nothing special except Joe Burrow’s 47-yard TD run that came in the first quarter.
But things changed in the last quarter and Joe Burrow suddenly got injured. The score was 10-7 and Burrow had the pressure of elevating his team’s 1-4 record. However, Brian Burns, the Giants DE had other plans. He hit Joe Burrow and it looked nasty. The Giants beat reporter Art Stapleson provided the important updates.
The reporter took to X and wrote, “Joe Burrow is in the medical tent on the Bengals sideline after taking that shot from Brian Burns. Meanwhile, Jake Browning, his backup, is taking a few warmup tosses on the sideline”

A quick recap of the injury tells us exactly what happened. Burns, who recently signed a 5-year $141 million contract with the Giants easily found his way around the Cincinnati Bengals’ O-Line and got to Joe Burrow. It was a massive hit to the QB and the Giants DE threw him down with a bear hug.
Burrow was being checked in the blue tent while Jake Browning got ready to throw for the remainder of the game. Luckily, it wasn’t a major injury, though Burrow looked like he was having a hard time getting up. However, the quarterback returned to watch his running back, Chase Brown rush to the end zone with a 30-yard TD.

The game ended on a 17-7 note and the Cincy team is now 2-4. Burrow came out with 208 yards that he scored by completing 19 of his 28 passes. He also had a rushing touchdown as mentioned before, but nothing more. It was perhaps the most bland game to happen on the SNF this season and the fans were quick to let the league know. Let’s quickly rehash the game.
Joe Burrow can finally breathe a sigh of relief
Burrow was stagnant after first quarter touchdown. Then, the third quarter came and Tyrone Tracy Jr., the Giants RB ran to the end zone with a 1-yard TD with 5:48 remaining. This was after Daniel Jones’ failed attempt of throwing a deep pass to the end zone.

With the scores equalized in the third quarter, Evan McPherson, the Cincy kicker came into the picture and knocked down a 37-yarder to give his team a 3-point lead. The Bengals were 10-7 at this point. Then into the fourth quarter, the Cincy quarterback took that hit from Brian Burns. But it might have been worth the pain because upon returning, he witnessed Chase Brown seal the game and come out with a 17-7 win at MetLife.
