Woman identified as 3rd alleged victim of man accused in stabbing deaths in Dallas

A 31-year-old woman was identified as the third victim in a string of killings that Dallas police attribute to one man.
De’brenese Janey Henry was found Saturday in a field near the Trinity River in the 800 block of Brazos Street, near East Jefferson Boulevard, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

She’s one of three women stabbed to death in east and north Oak Cliff over the course of about three months in Dallas. Police on Wednesday arrested Oscar Sanchez-Garcia, 25, on three murder charges in connection with the slayings of Henry, Kimberly Robinson and Cherish Gibson.

Sanchez-Garcia remained in the Dallas County jail on Friday. It was unclear whether he had an attorney. His bail was set at $4 million for two murder charges. His bail amount on the third charge was not listed Friday morning.
Robinson, 60, was found nude April 22 in a grassy area under a DART light-rail bridge.

About two months later, Gibson was found partially nude in the grass about 200 yards from where Robinson was found in the 200 block of Santa Fe Avenue. Investigators believe Gibson, 25, was last seen on Harry Hines Boulevard the night before she died.
Henry’s body was found weeks later within about 2 miles of where the other two were found.
Police have said at least two of the women had links to prostitution.

Sanchez-Garcia lived about 10 minutes from where Gibson and Robinson’s bodies were found. Detectives saw his truck in surveillance footage and searched his cell phone records, which revealed he was in the same area as two victims when they died, according to an arrest-warrant affidavit.

Police also connected Robinson and Gibson using DNA gathered through sexual-assault kits, according to the affidavit. Details for how police connected Sanchez-Garcia to Henry’s death were not immediately available Friday.
A GoFundMe account created to raise funds for Henry’s memorial service describes her as “fun, loving, funny,” and a hardworking sister and mom. Her family could not immediately be reached for comment.
