YMCA of the Chippewa Valley to expand into Menomonie area

MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU) – The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley announced today that they will be expanding into Menomonie when they acquire Menomonie Health and Fitness on April 1.
The expansion has been in the works since the spring of 2024.
The two facilities will be named the Menomonie East YMCA and Menomonie South YMCA.
In spring 2024, the YMCA conducted a feasibility study with Menomonie residents to see their interest in the new facilities and what they would like in them.
The facilities will have your typical exercise equipment, group-exercise classes, child watch, various programming for children and more.
The YMCA will also be operating the Menomonie south location 24/7. Their goal is to bring health and wellness support to the area in the ways community members need most.
“The Menomonie Health and Fitness has built a great brand of serving people which allows us to step into the market and start to build not only a health and wellness presence but also a programmatic presence as well. So, we’re working really hard to determine other partnerships that could be happening out there.” Derek White, President and CEO of the YMCA of the Chippewa Valley said.
Current members of Menomonie Health and Fitness will automatically be given a Y membership on opening day. Current Chippewa Valley YMCA memberships will also be able to be used at the new facilities.
The buildings will be open under the YMCA name starting on April 1.
