Karla Thaynnara, a Brazilian fitness and biker influencer, died on Tuesday after her motorcycle collided with a car on a highway near Brasília, Brazil’s capital city. She was 25.
Her father, retired military police officer José Carlos Andrade Nogueira, arrived at the crash scene and died by suicide shortly after learning of his daughter’s death, with police officers at the scene unable to intervene, TMZ reported.
According to regional newspaper Correio Braziliense, Thaynnara was thrown from her motorcycle after the collision and was then run over by a truck, despite the driver’s attempts to avoid her, New York Post reported.
Thaynnara, best known for her fitness content and passion for motorcycles, posted her final post on Feb. 21 showing her using workout equipment at the gym, according to the Daily Mail.
Both deaths were confirmed in a post to Thaynnara’s Instagram stories on Tuesday, with the family announcing that a wake and motorcycle caravan would be held on Wednesday at a local cemetery in Brasília, People reported.
Thaynnara leaves behind a seven-year-old daughter who was frequently featured on her Instagram account, with fans posting tributes expressing condolences for both her and her father, according to TMZ.
