The Bay Area Ice Bears defeated Cap City 5-1 to advance to the WIAA state girls hockey championship.
In Division 1 girls basketball, Notre Dame upset defending champion Kimberly 54-48.
Stevens Point beat De Pere 67-51 and will face Notre Dame in a sectional final.
Shawano, Xavier, Kewaunee, and Florence also secured wins to advance in their respective basketball divisions.

WIAA state semifinals
Bay Area 5, Cap City 1
MIDDLETON – The defending state champion Ice Bears led 2-0 after the first period and rolled to the semifinal victory over the Cougars.
Bay Area improves to 25-2 overall and advances to the championship game at 3 p.m. March 7 against River Falls co-op, which beat Superior/Northwestern 7-4 in the other semifinal game.
Faye Brunke and Aisling Buchan each scored two goals for the Ice Bears. Piper Losey scored the other goal.
Addison Dahl, Ava McDonald, Lilly Lyons and Jordyn Clarke had assists for Bay Area.
Ice Bears goalie Reese Spiering made 10 saves. Sofia Martinelli made 35 saves for Cap City, which finishes the season with a 19-7-1 record.
Rachel Olm scored for Cap City in the second period to pull the Cougars within 3-1.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
WIAA Division 1 sectional semifinals
Notre Dame 54, Kimberly 48
APPLETON – A late rally fueled by a flurry of timely free-throw shooting allowed the Tritons to pull off the victory and knock the defending Division 1 state champs out of the playoffs.
Destiny Webster scored 18 points to lead Notre Dame (23-4), which advances to play Stevens Point (23-4) in a sectional final March 7 at 1 p.m. at D.C. Everest High School.
Kaia Waldrop added 13 points for the Tritons.
Haylie Dulas had 14 points and Emily Urban scored 12 to pace Kimberly (22-5).
The score was tied at 42 in the second half, but the Tritons embarked on a 12-6 run to ice the game. With the score 49-47 with 1:31 left in the game, Notre Dame connected on 6 of 8 from the free throw line to seal the win.

PULASKI – The fifth-seeded Redbirds led early, but a 22-7 run to end the first half helped propel the top-seeded Panthers to the sectional semifinal win.
Jada Seubert led Stevens Point with 26 points, while Leah Awe added 23.
De Pere was paced by Abby Tassoul with 21 points, while Allie Neuenfeldt added 10.
SPASH advances to face Notre Dame on March 7 at 1 p.m. in the sectional final at D.C. Everest High School.
De Pere got as close as six points twice, the last coming at 39-33 with 11:03 remaining, but the Panthers closed on a 28-16 run to seal the victory.
The win moves Stevens Point to 23-4, while De Pere finishes its season at 22-5.

WIAA Division 2 sectional semifinals
Shawano 50, Rhinelander 47
ANTIGO – The top-seeded Hawks held off a furious third-seeded Hodags rally to earn the sectional semifinal win.
Shawano led 42-32 with 6:55 left in the second half, but Rhinelander chipped away at its deficit to close to within 46-45 with under 30 seconds remaining. The Hawks were able to hit their free throws and came up with key turnovers in the final seconds to seal the win.
The game was close throughout the first half as each team took turns taking the lead before Shawano grabbed a 25-24 halftime edge.
The victory moves the Hawks into the sectional final March 7 at 4 p.m. against Rice Lake at Stevens Point Area Senior High.
Shawano is now 18-9 overall, while the Hodags closed out their season at 16-11.

Xavier 42, West De Pere 39
SEYMOUR – The top-seeded Hawks outlasted the third-seeded Phantoms to advance to the sectional final March 7 against Beaver Dam at Sheboygan South High School.
The game was close throughout as Xavier took a 20-18 halftime advantage.
The win moves the Hawks to 22-5 overall, while West De Pere finishes its season at 14-13.

WIAA Division 4 sectional semifinals
Kewaunee 75, Manitowoc Lutheran 69
DENMARK – The Storm advances to the sectional final with the victory over the Lancers.
Kewaunee improves to 22-5 overall and will play St. Mary Catholic in the sectional final at 1 p.m. March 7 in Brillion.
Manitowoc Lutheran finishes the season with a 22-5 record.
WIAA Division 5 sectional semifinals
Florence 50, Lena 48
PESHTIGO – The Bobcats held off the Wildcats to advance to the sectional championship game.
Florence improves to 22-4 overall and will play Stevens Point Pacelli at 1 p.m. March 7 in Pulaski in the sectional final.
Lena finishes the season with a 23-4 record.
