Jennifer Aniston and Jim Curtis have set rules for resolving tension in their relationship.
The former “Friends” star has been dating the health and wellness expert for several months, and their relationship isn’t without its fair share of tiffs. Luckily, they have a system for disagreements.
“The only reason we’re here on this earth is, like, for the interpersonal relationships,” Curtis said on the “Ced with Intention” podcast. “Repair is part of it all. Like, we’re living with it. I spend a lot of time with my girlfriend; we spend a lot of time in the house together. So sometimes we can have like, little things that flare up. We have the opportunity to either be silent and be angry and go leave the house and like, think about it, meditate or change it. Or we can say, ‘Hey, this is what happened, and I’m sorry’ and do the repair and then go and really work on making sure it happens less or doesn’t happen again.”
The 50-year-old hypnotherapist explained he and Aniston set their guidelines for tackling conflict before any issues arose. “We’ve had discussions where, like, before anything bad happens, like in this situation ‘Do you need time? Do you need 10 minutes to yourself to think about it? Or do you want to get into it immediately? Is it okay if we sleep overnight, or are you the type of person that if you go to bed angry, it’s really painful for you?’” he said.
“I think there needs to be like, especially in a romantic relationship, that you need to pregame the rules to this thing that you’re doing,” Curtis added.
Aniston and Curtis were publicly linked for the first time in July 2025, when the duo was seen on a yacht during a vacation in Mallorca, Spain.
She made it Instagram official in November when she posted a photo with Curtis on his birthday, writing, “Happy birthday my love.”
