Last summer, Estero resident Jonathan Namath was looking for ways to improve his health. After his father shared a column, I wrote about Lee Health hosting Pivio – the Complete Health Improvement Program – Jonathan decided to explore the opportunity.
Led by registered dietitian Erika Graziani, RD, LDN, Pivio is a 12-week program designed to help participants build sustainable, healthy habits. Through 18 virtual group sessions, the program provides a practical action plan grounded in evidence-based behavior change and the six pillars of lifestyle medicine:
A plant-rich eating pattern
Physical activity
Meaningful social connections
Avoidance of risky substances
Sleep and rest
Stress management
“Pivio can be life-changing if you want it to be,” Jonathan said. “It’s a very thorough program that helps in all facets of your life and provides a new foundation for you to write a new chapter. Ultimately, it’s up to you to sustain it even after completing the course.”
Lee Health has offered Pivio to our employees and seen strong clinical outcomes, including weight loss and improvements in blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, fasting glucose, and hemoglobin A1C. Last year, Erika extended the invitation to community members to participate—an effort I was proud to support through this column.
Jonathan’s experience reflects the impact we’ve seen. Over the course of the program, he lost approximately 25 pounds and began addressing long-standing sleep challenges tied to years of demanding work schedules. Like many participants, he gained tools he can continue using well beyond the 12 weeks.
The next Pivio cohort begins on Feb. 5, with informational sessions available on Jan. 20, Jan. 22, and Jan. 29. Community members interested in learning more or registering for an informational session can contact Erika Graziani at Erika.Graziani@LeeHealth.org.
At Lee Health, we are committed to serving our community as a trusted partner, empowering healthier lives through care and compassion. By offering the Pivio program, we are helping our team members and neighbors make lasting changes that lead to better health, wellness, and vitality.
