Juan Rendon, 31, was with a group of other men that entered Cue Balls, 7735 S. Harlem Ave., around 2:11 a.m. and then followed another group that had been playing pool as they left the pool hall.
An argument ensued between the two groups when police said Rendon pulled out a gun. A man with the first group, who had a valid CCL, went to his car and retrieved his gun, resulting in an exchange of gunfire.

Rendon’s friends were attempting to give him CPR when police arrived, who officers found gravely injured on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Rendon was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 2:42 a.m.
The man who went back to his vehicle to retrieve his gun was shot once in the torso. Police said he had attempted to run away after being shot and was found 50 yards away where he had collapsed on the ground. He, too, was brought to Advocate Christ in serious but stable condition where he remained hospitalized.
Chief Riccardo Mancha, of the Bridgeview Police Department, told Patch that investigators from the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force determined that only two guns were used in the incident.
Rendon resided on the 5700 block of West 103rd Street in Oak Lawn.
No charges have been filed, pending further investigation.
