Bella Pires homered, doubled, drew a pair of walks and drove in 5 runs to spark the Weymouth High softball team to an 18-8 win over Pembroke on Monday, March 30.
Jillian Ondrick (3 hits, double, triple, 4 RBIs) and Abby Reed (3 hits, 2 doubles, walk, 3 RBIs) also starred for the Wildcats in the non-league victory. Gia Palazzo had a pair of hits and 2 RBIs, and Vivian Palazzo added 3 hits. Maddie Smith earned the win in the circle.
Pembroke was led by Hannah D’Angelo (3 hits), Jaelyn Resil (2 hits, walk, RBI), Amanda Graham (2 RBIs) and Maeve Shaughnessy (2 RBIs).

Notre Dame Academy 11, Archbishop Williams 10: Julie Murphy was 2-for-2 with a walk and a sacrifice in her first varsity start for Archies. Taylor Putnam was 3-for-4 with 3 runs, and Anna Iantosca homered, drew three walks and drove in 3 runs.
Oliver Ames 3, Mansfield 2: Freshman Gia Giovanello broke a 1-1 tie with a solo home run, her first on varsity, to lift the Tigers. Katie Berg scored the first OA run by stealing home and knocked in the final run, plating Ella O’Keefe. Piper McGuire picked up her first career win, allowing 1 earned run and 6 hits with 5 strikeouts.
Abington 7, Norwell 0: Elsie Testa struck out 13 in a 2-hit shutout and chipped in a hit and an RBI. Savvy Eriksen (2 RBIs) and Maila Goldberg each went 3-for-3 for the Green Wave (2-0), and Madison McDonald (2-for-4, double, run, RBI) and Carley Agnew (1-for-3, 2 RBIs) also contributed.
Carver 5, Barnstable 5 (suspended): Lyla Moore struck out 8 for the Crusaders in a game suspended by darkness after 7 innings.
Apponequet 4, Middleboro 1: Emily Oates dove in the Sachems’ lone run.
BASEBALL
Cardinal Spellman 9, Westport 4: Winning pitcher Jason Cunningham struck out 12 and allowed 1 earned run for the Cardinals (1-1). Tyler Alsen (3-for-4), Lucas Soares (2-for-3, double), Titus Etienne (1-for-2) and Brady Flaherty (1-for-4) starred at the plate.
Middleboro 1, Durfee 0: Winning pitcher Ryan Tullish allowed 1 hit with 4 strikeouts over 6 innings and drove in the game’s only run with an RBI double in the sixth. Reliever EJ Wanke worked the seventh for the save.
East Bridgewater 6, Pembroke 0: Devon Blair (4 innings, 1 hit, 5 strikeouts) and Jared Hardiman (3 innings, 2 hits, 2 strikeouts) combined on the shutout for the Vikings. Landyn Dube led the offense with a 3-run double in the first inning. Brody Lovell and John King each had 3 hits and a walk.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Cohasset 9, Notre Dame Academy 7: Avery Regan had a hat trick, and Aine Norton added 2 goals for the Skippers. Kate Greer (goal, 2 assists), Emily Regan (goal, assist), Molly Campbell (goal, assist) and goalie Janet O’Carroll (12 saves) also starred.
Abington 11, Fontbonne 10: Avery DiMambro scored 6 goals, including the game-winner, for the Green Wave. Ava Williamson (2), Olivia McClellan, Lainey Hogan and Amelia Hogan added goals, and Cadence Dionne made 19 saves.
Bridgewater-Raynham 12, Silver Lake 7: Lucy Francis scored 5 goals, and Claire Fitzsimmons had a hat trick and an assist for B-R. Lacey Haikola and Emily Doyle each scored twice, and goalie Ansley Yates recorded her 300th save. For the Lakers, Taylor Corr scored twice, and Ashlynn Runey added a goal and 3 assists.
North Quincy 19, Cambridge Rindge & Latin 9: Maddie O’Donnell scored 7 goals, and Gia Plaskasovitis and Mackenzie Ilacqua each added 4 for the Raiders, who presented new coach Caroline Keenan with her first victory.
Whitman-Hanson 13, Hull 8: Shannon Balfe (4 goals, assist), Cam MacCallum (3 goals, assist), Aoife Flynn (3 goals, assist) and Abby Nash (2 goals, 2 assists) powered the Panthers (2-1). Sami Hinchey also scored, and goalie Lily Roback made 4 saves.
BOYS LACROSSE
Rockland 7, Whitman-Hanson 5: Gavan Biggins scored 4 goals to power the Bulldogs. David Kane (2) and TJ DiMario added goals, and goalie Tommy Reyno had a strong game. W-H’s Nicholas Beltramini had a hat trick, Jackson Alexander and Dean Tropeano added goals, and Quinn Frazier chipped in 2 assists.
Plymouth North 13, Archbishop Williams 12 (OT): Logan Perry and Jake Turchinetz each had 5 goals to power North. Trey Thatcher, Mac Doherty and Owen Perry also scored. Archies was led by Henri Barriere (4 goals, 3 assists), Dylan Cole (4 goals, 2 assists) and Caiden Swanson, who won 18 of his 24 faceoffs.
Southeastern 5, Old Colony 1: Ryan Chute and Vince Cuzzi each scored twice for the Hawks, and goalie Jacob Gillis stopped 16 of 17 shots. Nik Doherty added a goal and an assist.
Silver Lake 13, Barnstable 7: Finn Cronin (4 goals, 3 assists) and Nolan Dickinson (3 goals, 2 assists) led the way for the Lakers.
BOYS TENNIS
Durfee 4, Middleboro 1: Ben Sciascia notched the lone point for the Sachems, winning 7-5, 6-1, at second singles.
Marshfield 5, Norwell 0: Julian Baker won at first singles, 6-4, 4-6, 10-4 (super tiebreaker) for the Rams.
GIRLS TENNIS
Rockland 5, Carver 0: Grace Farry, Amelia Harrington and Ash Seder won at singles, and the Bulldogs also swept the doubles matches with the teams of Kyara Williams/Mae Richardson and Claire Carpine/Lyla Davey.
Oliver Ames 4, Mansfield 1: OA got singles wins from Ada Visnauskis (No. 1) and Kathryn Weiler (No. 2) and swept the doubles with the teams of Ali Querzoli/Addie Stebbins (No. 1) and Ava Clark/Anna Sierra (No. 2).
