Woman found murdered at Shou Sugi Ban House Hamptons spa: police

Authorities on Long Island are investigating the apparent murder of a woman found dead at a high-end spa and resort in Southampton on Monday.
The victim, identified as 33-year-old Sabina Rosas, of Brooklyn, was found dead early Monday afternoon in a guest room at a resort in Water Mill, Suffolk County Police confirmed to the Daily News.
Officers with the Southampton Town Police Department responded to the Shou Sugi Ban House around 12:30 p.m. after an employee reported finding a dead person in a room of the exclusive facility, authorities said.
Investigators said the person was a victim of violence, but didn’t provide additional details.
One neighbor told Long Island News 12 the facility has a “good reputation,” adding they had “never heard a bad thing about it.”
It’s a “total shock,” the neighbor said.
The victim’s cause of death will be determined following an autopsy by personnel from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, officials said.
Shou Sugi Ban House, located on Montauk Highway, is described as a “private sanctuary and gated compound surrounded by evergreen trees and lush grasses.”
A spokesperson for the company didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday morning.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Suffolk County Police Homicide Division at 631-852-6396.
