When a 67‑year‑old woman was rushed to hospital with chest pain and signs of a heart attack, doctors initially treated her for a routine cardiac emergency. Doctors were able to diagnose and operate on an atrial myxoma, which is a benign heart tumor that most commonly grows in the left atrium, one of the the heart’s upper chambers.
