Kamaru Usman is perplexed at the fact that Dillon Danis continues to be offered opportunities to compete in combat sports.
This coming Saturday, Real American Freestyle Wrestling returns for another show, headlined by a rematch between Arman Tsarukyan and Georgio Poullas.
The co-main event is also captivating the audience as Colby Covington is set to take on Dillon Danis in Danis’ first appearance in the promotion.
And now just a few days out from the event, fans are still worried that the controversial combat sports star may still withdraw from the event.
Kamaru Usman questions why Danis keeps being offered opportunities
Unfortunately for the 32-year-old, he has built a reputation for being extremely unreliable, consistently withdrawing from scheduled competition.
The last time he competed in combat sports was back in August last year when he took on Warren Spencer in a Misfits MMA bout.
And ahead of his inaugural appearance on the RAF mats, UFC star Kamaru Usman has questioned why Danis keeps being offered opportunities to compete considering his reputation.
“I think it’s a great one for Covington, for sure,” he said on the Pound 4 Pound Podcast.
“But why does Danis continue to get these opportunities when there continues to be controversy every time. Whether he doesn’t show up, he signs to fight this guy and doesn’t show up, signs to fight that guy (and doesn’t show up).
“I feel like it’s been a few now, a few different (instances), whether it’s boxing or it’s MMA, it’s been a few different instances where he’s signed to fight and hasn’t shown up.”
